Gila Jones

Gila Jones is a native Californian who attended elementary school in Anaheim, graduated from UCI, and has lived in San Juan Capistrano continually since 1979. Her sons attend Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly Pomona.  

A lifelong Democrat and established non-partisan activist, Gila began her Democratic Party involvement in 2004. She was first elected to the Central Committees of the Democratic Party of Orange County and the California Democratic Party in 2005 and served as Vice-Chair of the Democratic Party’s 73rd Assembly District Committee from 2005 to 2007. She was appointed to the California Democratic Party’s Voter Services Committee* and elected to the CDP Executive Board in 2007. Gila also serves as Chairperson of the South Orange County Democratic Club*, a grassroots organization that has more than tripled in size under her leadership. 

Gila was the founding Vice-President of All Souls Unitarian Church (now Tapestry Unitarian Universalist Congregation) in Mission Viejo, and held the position of Chairperson of the Electronic Communications Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Association* for eight years.  

Gila received her MBA in Information Systems Management from Northeastern University and is a co-author of Internet: the Complete Reference (McGraw-Hill). She speaks English and Spanish.
